I have been waiting, with baited breath to finally start sharing some of the incredible work of my dear friend Michael Y Wong.
Let me tell you a bit about Mike…Mike is:
Funny (probably does the best Borat impression I have ever seen … ever)
Passionate – this guy has a passion for film making. Put aside the fancy dancy camera gear and all the mad editing skills, Mike can see something so simple to our eyes and create such beautiful, moving scenes. Just when it’s time to pack up and move along he sees something he just has to film. Unbeknownst to me, he probably just shot something so unique and amazing that you can see later on in the film.
Personable – I know, first handed (as Mike shot my wedding) he gets to know couples. He goes beyond the required “fill out this paper about your day” and learns about you. He knows what is important to you on your big day and makes sure he captures that on film.
Funny - Did I mention that already…
A stand up guy – simple as that. Mike is a stand up guy. He’s honest, real and sincere. All while making you laugh. He understands the true meaning of friendships and develops them with everyone he meets.
I think I’ve babbled enough…Check out two of his latest films.

Nat & Marc were married this past Sunday May 23rd at BGCC. What a venue. The newly renovated venue is gorgeous, (but not as gorgeous as the bride of course ) Nat & Marc lucked out with beautiful weather after a stormy, rainy Saturday. The sun was shining, the guests alive with energy and we had one happy couple. Who could ask for more?
Take a look at some of the photos below. Taken by Vintage Design Co. Jennifer (you remember her, I did a review on her last year) provided the beautiful fresh florals for the church and venue. The linens and chevari chairs came from Angelica at Simply Beautiful Decor. What a team working that day to create such a beautiful room.
Meet Bryony & Joey. They are getting married this August. When Bryony passed along her engagement photos for me to look at, I said, wait up…hold on a minute hear…..these are awesome
Check them out, then check out Tara McMullen’s website. She’s quite the talented photographer.
May 14, 2010 - 3:05 pmBryony - I agree! But I might be biased! Thanks for posting these Jaime, we can't wait til August, and we're glad you will be part of our day!
May 15, 2010 - 1:49 pmRankin - Seriously beautiful and fun photos. This photographer is serious Canadian Talent!
Liz and Liam got married back in September at Southbrook Winery in Niagara on the Lake.
It was a rainy day, but you would never guess so by looking at their images. Check out the smile on this girls face!
Liz & Liam were the kind of DIY couple. She custom made the stationary, place card holders (200 or so corks she sliced the sides off of) wine bottles for the table numbers and I could go on… I love it when couples put their all into their wedding. Liz was so energetic and involved that I had to convince her that climbing on a ladder that was mounted on a table to hang a hand made paper ball from the tent ceiling was a very bad idea. Liz, seriously….bad idea!
Check out the photos. Leave a little comment with some love
March 16, 2010 - 7:03 amMona Kaspo - Wow... sweet photos. They look like such a nice couple and Jaime, you're absolutely right, I could never guess it was a rainy day. Beautifully done!
March 19, 2010 - 10:26 amliz - A million thank you's to you Jaime for your help and guidance. We definitely were not about to let a little rain get us down....not that I really noticed it. Almost 6 months later, and we're still smiling!
xo
April 9, 2010 - 12:13 pmWanda - Love these images from Stillmotion. Liz and Liam both radiate such positive energy and love through their photos... Jaime you obviously did an amazing job at coordinating everything perfectly... as per usual!
: )
That’s the Australian way of saying ‘how’s it going?’ I have to do a double take each time someone asks me that and remember to answer “well” instead of “huh”!!!
Before coming to Australia, people would always ask “why are you going” I would tell them I am coordinating workshops for Australian wedding cinematographers. Watch these two videos from the first two workshops to give you a better idea of exactly what I am doing here.
February 21, 2010 - 10:18 pmDave Cowling - It was so great to meet you and the whole crew out here for the SM workshops. Thanks so much for all your help Jaime, YOU ROCK!
March 3, 2010 - 10:44 amKee - Thank you for coordinating everything. It was great to have your opinion as a wedding planner as well.
I’m in Sydney, Australia coordinating three workshops for StillMotion’s Evolution Experience.
On arrival, it rained…and rained…and rained…..but it’s still amazing here!!!
Check out this cool little film made by Patrick Moreau of StillMotion. I’m trying really really hard to perfect my Australian accent. How do you think I’m doing so far
Last week, I had the pleasure of playing dress up. (Can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon!) A few local photographers got together and had a photog play date. The theme-Old Hollywood Glamour. I was told to think Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Greta Garbo.
I took a little shopping trip to the VV Boutique (Value Village) and had my shopping cart full in 5! I found the craziest old fur (not real…just fake) coat with a matching hat, long brown gloves and the most amazing old wedding dress with a gorgeous collar for $35.00!!! What a bargain!
Anyhoodles, check out some of the pics. Enjoy and leave a comment
