That’s the Australian way of saying ‘how’s it going?’ I have to do a double take each time someone asks me that and remember to answer “well” instead of “huh”!!!
Before coming to Australia, people would always ask “why are you going” I would tell them I am coordinating workshops for Australian wedding cinematographers. Watch these two videos from the first two workshops to give you a better idea of exactly what I am doing here.
February 21, 2010 - 10:18 pmDave Cowling - It was so great to meet you and the whole crew out here for the SM workshops. Thanks so much for all your help Jaime, YOU ROCK!
March 3, 2010 - 10:44 amKee - Thank you for coordinating everything. It was great to have your opinion as a wedding planner as well.
I’m in Sydney, Australia coordinating three workshops for StillMotion’s Evolution Experience.
On arrival, it rained…and rained…and rained…..but it’s still amazing here!!!
Check out this cool little film made by Patrick Moreau of StillMotion. I’m trying really really hard to perfect my Australian accent. How do you think I’m doing so far
Last week, I had the pleasure of playing dress up. (Can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon!) A few local photographers got together and had a photog play date. The theme-Old Hollywood Glamour. I was told to think Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Greta Garbo.
I took a little shopping trip to the VV Boutique (Value Village) and had my shopping cart full in 5! I found the craziest old fur (not real…just fake) coat with a matching hat, long brown gloves and the most amazing old wedding dress with a gorgeous collar for $35.00!!! What a bargain!
Anyhoodles, check out some of the pics. Enjoy and leave a comment
A couple of weekends ago, we celebrated the wedding of very good friends of mine. Lisa & Mike. Mike and I know each other from working together in the wedding industry. He is one of the most talented cinematographers I have ever had the privilege of working with. His lovely bride Lisa, has the most infectious smile ever. She is fun and loves to laugh (although, most of the time I think she is laughing at me!!)
When they asked me to help coordinate their wedding day, I was more than honored. It’s no big surprise I love to coordinate weddings, but when it’s your close friends, it means that much more.
The ceremony took place at Knox College at University of Toronto, what a gorgeous place to get married. The light shone down on them from the stain glass windows above their heads as they were introduced as man and wife….super romantic…
Now, for the introductions, Lisa and Mike were escorted into the room by Lion Dancers. It was one of the coolest things I have seen at a wedding. They are so entertaining, and they give the couple blessings while they dance. Can’t wait to show you those photos.
Here is a formal of Mike, Lisa myself and my husband Paul. Amish Solanki, also a good friend and photog for the day, will have photos up soon. I’ll be sure to link you to them.

October 20, 2009 - 10:02 pmLisa - Jaime... I don't know what to say except THANK YOU and you are amazing. I sincerely apologize for being so last minute but of course you would be able to do more than expected. The day turned out better than I imagined and I sincerely thank you for all your help, time, ideas and suggestions. One of my fondest memories is you walking me from the limo into Knox and how you naturally were able to calm my nerves with you just being "you".
December 24, 2009 - 4:11 amJet Kaiser - I love these. What a great job!
Hey everyone, here is the same day photo slideshow that John Edgar prepared and presented for Julie & Martin’s wedding. This was a surprise to Julie, so it was awesome to see her face and all the emotions.
Julie & Martin tied the knot last Saturday (pics to come) We planned for an outdoor ceremony months ago. Just adding to the pre-wedding anxiety, wouldn’t you know that the forecast was calling for rain all day and thunderstorms!!!’
We had to ask ourselves if we wanted to get a tent and do it outside or instead resort to having it inside the Art Gallery of Hamilton. We hummed and hawed about it for days. Final decision..let’s take the risk. If it was going to be that rainy, Julie & Martin wouldn’t want their guests outside anyway. I kept reassuring her, “don’t worry, it will be fine, it won’t rain. The Weather Network is never right”
I wake up to thunder. Eeeek! It was so rainy, I got soaked getting my morning Tim Horton’s. Think positive, think positive I kept telling myself. I prayed on the way down to the Gallery, “Dear God, please stop the rain, Julie & Martin really want to get married outside”.
More thunder.
Noon came around, the skies cleared and the sun came out. Julie & Martin did have an outdoor ceremony and cocktail reception. It was awesome. Moral of the story, stay positive. (and have a plan B!)
I’ll post pictures as soon as I get them from the creative John Edgar.
